11. FOREST SHORTCUT
You leave the main trail and cut through the woods, along a well-trodden path.
You freeze in your tracks when you see what has done the trodding.
Ahead of you, a grizzly bear is sitting on its haunches, staring at you. At his feet, there’s a dead body. Closer to you, there’s a torn book on the ground.
A second path branches off and looks like it might reconnect with the main trail.
